Corfu International Airport "Ioannis Kapodistrias" (IATA code CFU) is small, easy to navigate, and only 3 km from Corfu Town — but the first 30 minutes after landing set the tone for your holiday. This is what you need to know before you walk off the plane.

The basics

Getting from CFU to your hotel

Option 1: Rental car (recommended for most visitors)

If you are staying anywhere outside Corfu Town for more than 2-3 days, a rental car saves you money and time. Companies like ours deliver the car directly to the arrivals hall — no shuttle, no kiosk queue, no airport surcharge. Walk out of baggage claim, meet the rep, sign two pages, and you are on the road in 15 minutes.

Option 2: Taxi

Taxis are plentiful outside arrivals. Approximate fares (one-way):

Multiply by two for a return trip. For most stays of 4+ days, a rental works out cheaper than two taxi transfers alone.

Option 3: Public bus (KTEL)

The blue urban bus (line 15) runs from the airport to the New Port (Corfu Town) every 30-60 minutes. Cheap (~€1.50) but limited timetable. From the New Port you transfer to the green KTEL intercity bus for resort destinations — slow, infrequent, and impractical for most travellers with luggage.

Late-night & early-morning flights

The airport closes overnight. If your flight lands after 23:00:

For early-morning flights (departure 05:00-07:00), arrive 90 minutes before. The airport opens about 2 hours pre-departure.

Practical tips for the arrivals hall

What if your flight is delayed?

If you booked a rental car with us, just send a quick message — our system tracks your flight via the IATA code and we adjust automatically. There is no penalty for late arrival, no extra fee, no missed pickup. The same applies for delayed departures: if you need to extend your rental by a few hours due to a late flight, we accommodate at no extra cost (within reason).
