Kavos sits at Corfu's southern tip, 47 km from the airport — known for its 2 km sandy beach, party scene and proximity to the wild south where Corfu meets the open Ionian. It is the furthest resort from the rest of the island, which is exactly why a rental car matters more here than anywhere else.

Public transport from Kavos is limited to a few KTEL buses a day to Corfu Town — fine for a single trip, but useless if you want to actually see the south of the island. With a rental, the unspoiled south opens up: Lefkimmi (the traditional saltworks town), Cape Asprokavos with the abandoned monastery, Bouka beach and the deserted southern coves accessible only by dirt track.
